puppy with kittenCalling pet artists, photographers and pet-friendly businesses!  With the pet industry maintaining a steady growth in these economic times, this year's High Country Pet Fest is bigger and better.  A second day has been added to accommodate all of the attendees and interest in this event.

Understanding that many pets are important family members, we will continue to educate pet owners, as well as bring them more unique items for their pet needs.

As Banner Elk is a pet-friendly community, we believe this annual festival will only grow in attendance by the many pet lovers here in the High Country.  Last year, this event was attended by more than 1,000 guests and their four-legged friends.  Marketing is key to the success of any event, and publicity has been implemented and more is planned to include local publications, newspapers, radio and social media.  Teaser advertisements have been included in the Avery County business guide which is sent to all the State Visitors Centers, local attractions, website calendars and brochure racks and mailed to over 27,000 households.

The Pet Fest will include something for everyone, from canine entertainers to the newest pet friendly foods and products to enhance the lives of our four-legged Pet Fest attendees.  Added offerings will include services such as photography, educational presentations by pet professionals, and even face painting for our two-legged friends.  This year, we also welcome the Whip Daddies as our musical guests on the first night.
